LSD NO NO

A little while ago i found this clip dedicated to dock ellis. the legendary baseball player who threw a no hitter on acid. not only was this clip extremely entertaining, but the types of illustrations really hit home for me. im thinking of trying to incorperate some of this style into my works. any thoughts?

i love updating stuff. ive been sick with swine and butt infection.

i had nothing to do and felt like i was dying, and couldnt move, or sit up, or stand, so i was forced to lie down for like 7 days or something, so i watched all kinds of artsy movies so for my update to the world i wanted to review one for yall. basquiat. a film about jean machel basquiat. a black new york graffiti artist. friends with warhol, and supposedly let andy steal all of his talent and stuff. the movie showed a great portrayal of what his life must have been like. constantly hopped up on something, coke to stay up all night and paint, and heroin all morning to sleep. he started creating amazing paintings exponentially that were not not sold. he is arguably the first amazing black painter to be hugely recognized. unfortunately he died at the age of 27 because of a massive drug (mainly heroin) overdose. anyways, incredible dude and incredibly moving piece of film and i highly suggest it.

This year was really super duper sweet. i procrastinated like a mofo, but i got everything done. I had alot of fun being taught some new art skillz by the infamous MC, and i feel like it has bettered my ability to create the sickest art known to man. Me and my bud burt WERE the prime ministers of NAHS, but now, we got impeached by some dictators, so we have now formed the SUPER HUMAN INFANTRY ART TEAM!!!! so join. anywho, we did some enjoyable trips this year, including the one to the zoo. I learned how to improve my ability to take risks, and how to get on task. this will help me oodles. ellen and megan are really really cool. I developed some new drawing skillz, and not new painting skillz, but next year hopefully. anywho, peace out kids, until next year.

The next artist that i chose to talk about is an artist who is alive and kickin, and killin it on the street art scene. his name is blu. he is absolutely rank when it comes to painting on the streets. his paintings cover entire sides of buildings and are soo cool. he is incredibly inspiring.

Portland/ Not Portland Artists

Well, my travels have led me to stumble upon a sick graffiti writer in the portland named Massive. he throws up some gnarly sh**. He is a graffiti artist, so he uses the street as his canvas and spray paint as his medium. his work is very visually pleasing. he also has done some commissioned work which i had the pleasure of getting to see him do. i got to speak with him, and he taught me some very valuable things about graffiti, and art in general.

Feb. Critique Pieces

My concentration is the distorted reality of children. Well, the first piece i created was a trip back to my childish drawing roots. It represents a childs view on the world through their true view, and not through the view of anybody else. The second piece represents how children/teens view themselves in horrible ways because of how society has warped the way they think and feel. I actually really liked these pieces, and thought that they have had the most meaning and thought in my concentration so far. plus i got them done on time. They are defidently moving in the right direction.
